We love this story.

The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills has issued a guide to parents, advising them how to motivate their children to find jobs and leave home after university.

The guide includes ground breaking suggestions such as not nagging them too much or being “too supportive”, as well as showing them “tough love” by refusing to do their washing and ironing.

This follows on from the news that more young adults are now living with their parents than in the past twenty years.  25% of men aged 25 to 29 now live in the family home, compared to 13% of women.  Not only that, but highest proportion of mummy’s-boys (sorry) is highest in Northern Ireland, the West Midlands, outer London and parts of the north-east.

So what’s going on UK?  Is it rising house prices?  Job losses due to the recession?  Or are you simply too bloody lazy to get up off your arse and cook that beans on toast yourself?
