Vegan Shoes From Recycled TVs March 2, 2010

Designer Elizabeth Olsen is on a mission – to turn your old TV set into fabulous shoes!

And credit to her, she’s done a pretty good job.

The shoes, including pumps, wedges, stiletto booties, and knee-highs, all feature an innovative polyester microfiber made from trashed television screens.

“The product needs to have substance to it, so you have to explain yourself or people would never know it was a) vegan or b) made from recycled TV sets,” says Olsen. “It doesn’t have to look an Earth Shoe or a Birkenstock.”
